about

This song is a dedication to the 1920's author J. A. Rogers and his book "From Man To Superman" . The book has a caption on top that reads, “AN EXPOSE’ ON THE STUPIDITY OF RACISM”. That word expose’ resonated with me. The melody to the song revealed itself to me when I was working on some melodic themes and variations. I was trying to take the motif(s) and use it to enclose a single note. (Modulations) While also observing the "Rule of Three". It is reminiscent of Ornette Coleman's "Roundtrip" that featured (saxophonist) Dewey Redman, (bassist) Jimmy Garrison and (drummer) Elvin Jones.
