I wrote this song thinking about my son. I was looking at a baby picture and remembered how I used to take care of him everyday up until he went to school. I remember being his primary care taker. We did everything together. In his early years I was Moma and Daddy while his mom pursued her career. Early mornings and late nights. This song is dedicated to parents. It's about protecting our babies. It's specifically about the first 3 to 4 years of parenting. What it feels like or what I felt like everyday up until the first day of school.
A lot of wonder... Before the baby can talk... etc.
FYI it is a “contra facts” on “Giant Steps” by John Coltrane. The goal was to play the song as it wasn’t Giant Steps. Often I like to play to the new melody.

Hey____
Verse 1: (Giant Steps progressions)
You look in to my eyes, then you look around, when you smile then I know it’s true. (Or I know I know?)
That you’re a Ha-ppi-ee Ba-a-b-e and you slept good “All Night Long”
The, thoughts, running through your mind I will never know.
Cheeks, so swe-et, and you kn-ow that they got a glow.
It’s a bran - knew da-y ne-ver seen before.
And then we’re on our way out the door now, here we go! 😀
Scat melody one time around
Verse 2: (or solo)
You walk in - to your class, then you look around, when you smile then I know it’s true.
That you’re a Ha-ppi-ee Bo - oy now-ow and you slept good “All Night Long”
The, thoughts, running through your mind I will never know.
Cheeks, so swe-et, and you kn-ow that they got a glow.

And now I’m on my way out the door now, here you go! 😀
